THE AREA.
With the pool 25m away & Lac Montbel just 6km from the barn you won't need to go far to cool down. In Summer the lake plays host to a ream of activities from horse riding and tree-top adventure climbing to stand-up-paddle, kayaking & sailing. There are even pedalos for hire. Alternatively you can go wild swimming in the many local rivers and mountain lakes.
The bastide town of Mirepoix is a lovely place to hang out and have a coffee and croissant or a 'pression' in the evening while the kids play with their scooters or play football in the shade of the 'Halle', the old covered market area. There are plenty of restaurants too. During the Summer there is a festival almost every weekend where the central square comes alive with stands and displays. Monday is market day so you can stock up on locally-grown produce and peruse the clothing and jewellery on sale.
The Pyrenees can be seen from every room in the barn, and there are countless walks, hikes and bike rides for all levels, it's a great way to escape the summer heat.
